It Changes Your Identity.
This is the perspective I developed after going through that shift myself.

My Story
In 2023, I was laid off.
On paper, it was just a company restructuring.
But in reality, it felt like something much deeper.
I had spent years building my identity around my role, so when that disappeared, I didn’t just lose a job. I lost my sense of direction.
For a while, I tried to regain stability and keep up appearances by doing what had always worked for me: building, staying productive, and continuing to move forward.
But what surprised me most was that I had failed before as an entrepreneur, and those experiences had never felt like this.
That’s when I understood the difference.
As an entrepreneur, failure is feedback.
As an employee, it often becomes personal, because we tie our identity to our role.
And, eventually, I realized I wasn’t really rebuilding yet.
I was reacting to the loss of the identity I had built around my career.
That realization changed how I approached everything.
So, instead of trying to “figure out what to do next”, I began treating my situation like the kinds of complex problems I had spent years solving as a designer and developer.
And through that process:
That’s how I stopped treating change like chaos… and started treating it like a system.
That shift allowed me to rebuild, step by step, from the inside out.
What I Do Now
Today, I help others do the same.
I work with professionals who feel stuck after a disruption, like a layoff, a career shift, or a loss of direction.
Together, we:
The goal isn’t just to “move on”.
It’s to design a next chapter that actually fits who you are becoming.
